Edward Lee delivers as usual.The books starts off pretty slow, then speeds up like a raging bull, only to become boring for the longest time and honestly the climax was not that great either. Lee had a great idea but I feel like he tried to shove too many characters into the story, and the narrative suffered on that.I usually read books this size in 2 days max but this one took me 5 days to get through!

Think you've seen it all, heard all that could be said? Unless you've read Lee, you haven't even scratched the surface of true in-your-face Horror. There is nothing safe and nothing sacred to Edward Lee. The man is a pitiless psycho. He gets a kick out of making woman cross their legs whenever his name is simply spoken. He can hijack the wills of men and women everywhere, leaving them desperate to escape from the book and even more desperate to delve deeper into his twisted little worlds. What

I loved this book...this is the first time I read anything from this author...It has myster, it had suspense, and of course horror...little extreme horror that made me a horror queen squmish...but it is not on every page like most of these people who read it...it was very well written and the author knew what he was talking about with his paranormal studies and he talked very well on demonology..but be warn this book is not for people who complain about torture or rape...but the rape scene are

Flesh Gothic came recommended as a steamy horror book. It's very accessible and I was able to read it quickly. This is the first Lee book I've read, and I will definitely be reading more.It's your basic haunted house story, painted with a Philip Marlowe style protagonist. I got this book in a bundle with some Dean Koontz books from Half Price Books. I picked it up at random to read. In some ways it's good it has some interesting reveals near the end but it's mostly sex and rape with ghosts. I doubt I'll read another of Edward Lee's books and this one will end up in the givaway pile but I don't feel like it was a waste of time.

Did this book live up to my expectations? Yes. I went in expecting a schlocky, over-the-top, gory B-movie experience in book form and thats exactly what I got. The story moved along quickly. It was filled with raunch and blood and silly occult happenings. The one thing that struck me as quite unbelievable (from a character perspective) was the female psychics/mediums shrugging off sexual assaults by otherworldly entities as merely routine workplace hazards and no big deal.
