Narration Conducive To Books Runaway (Starlight Animal Rescue #1)

A new series by Dandi Daley Mackall, author of the best-selling Winnie the Horse Gentler series!
I've run away seven times--never once to anything, just away from. Maybe that's why they call me a "runaway," and not a "run-to."
Meet 16-year-old Dakota Brown. She used to love all things "horse" until she lost everything, including hope. The minute she sets foot on her foster parents' farm--Starlight Animal Rescue--she plans her escape. But can an "impossible" horse named Blackfire and this quirky collection of animal lovers be the home she's always dreamed of?
Starlight Animal Rescue: Where problem horses are trained and loved, where abandoned dogs become heroes, where stray cats become loyal companions. And where people with nowhere to fit in find a place to belong.

Judge Regarding Books Runaway (Starlight Animal Rescue #1)
Dakota Brown is part of the Illinois DCFS system, she has been placed in 6 foster homes already and she has ran away from six, this is could be her last chance. She has learned to survive, never share to much, act and be friendly but make no attachments, you'll just end up getting hurt. Now she is headed to Nice,Illinois a small farming town and she is already planning her escape. Once there she starts her plan in motion, but then she meets BlackFire, a rescue horse who has the fight or flee

All the right ingredients -- foster girl in need of love, loving foster parents, an incredible small town (I want to eat at the Made Rite!) and a farm full of fantastic animals, especially the horse on the cover -- but definitely for a lower reading level than I expected given my memories of enjoying Winnie the Horse Gentler in high school, so it sped by like a short story. I'll happily finish the quartet but it's more fun to daydream about this world than read it, I think. My daydreams will

My favorite part was when Dakota decided to stay with her new foster family rather than run away. My least favorite parts were all the lies and sneaky things that Dakota was doing, like taking money, and driving the truck without permission and crashing it into a tree. Luckily, she didn't get in as much trouble as she was expecting.

This is one of my favorite series by Dandi Daley Mackall. The story lines in these books are incredible! I loved how the animals helped the characters heal and how they also helped the characters know Who God is. In three out of the four books, the main characters come from rough backgrounds- a runaway foster teen, to a cancer patient. The animals always help to show God's love to these teens and kids. Although all of the books were great, my favorites were definitely Runaway and Dark Horse. The

This is a wonderful story that demonstrates how healing horses can be for people with emotional problems. En route to her new home, Dakota Brown goes over her eight rules: from 1) Notice directions to location to 8) Be friendly, but dont make friends. She was amazed at this new foster home. She would have a room to herself, the husband cooked the fried chicken, The family accepted her. She discovers a scared, abused horse called Blackfire. She grooms, feeds and talks to the horse. But old habits
