Silent Truth (B.A.D. Agency #4)
Tough-as-nails Bureau of American Defense agent Hunter Thornton-Payne is no stranger to uncomfortable top-secret missions, but tonight takes the cake. He just needs to stick out a stuffy charity fund-raiser long enough to find the ruthless assassin he's hunted for four years. It's a rogue operation, but Hunter's got nothing to lose - until a beautiful brunette unexpectedly pulls him into her own dangerous agenda.
Abbie Blanton will do anything to cure her mother's mysterious illness. When a high-profile heiress is murdered as Abbie tries to blackmail her for clues, Abbie realizes she's stumbled into an unforgiving conspiracy - and she's the next target. Soon, she and Hunter discover an alarming connection and begin a treacherous battle against an evil enterprise that someone will go to terrifying lengths to keep hidden.
Hunter has one thing on his mind as he prepares for an evening at a posh fund-raiser - find the man who killed his partner and friend. Abbie is hyper focused on her agenda as well, trying to blend in to the wealthy crowd just long enough to figure out how to save her mother's life. When shots ring out, the two will be thrown together, forced to accept help from each other. Can the two work together, learn to trust each other in a world on the brink of disaster? Not the best action/adventure,
By far my favorite book in the series. Kenyon and Love really hit their stride with this one. I did skip most of the side Fratelli stuff again, but I did stop to skim some of it. Linette really does have a giant pair of balls. I want Gotthard to save her and have them fall madly in love. Hunter was such a huge surprise to me. As I said previously, I always figured there was something more to him than met the eye, but I didn't know just how much that was. He is amazing. Simply amazing. When he
Pretty good series, a surprise twist towards the end of the book had me in disbelief.
There are not enough stars for this AMAZING book! Hunter is the perfect 007 type...with a heart of gold and a wounded soul. Amazing, amazing book!!!I was hard on the change to the style of the BAD books, but this one has converted me. I love this Kenyon/Love book! Amazing storyline, amazing backdrops, great characters! I am only sad that the book had to end!

I admit that I did not really like Hunter when I read Whispered Lies because he seemed like a pompous jerk, but I have since seen the error of my ways. After reading this book, I see how misunderstood he is and that he'd been protecting himself from getting hurt while biding his time for finding Eliot's killer. It broke my heart when Eliot died, when Hunter's team was horrible to him, when he doubted Abbie after talking to Gotthard, and when Abbie walked away from him and didn't look back. I
