Nearly made 4 stars and has given me a great deal of pleasure. Read a little at a time in bed and very calming so saved for those nights when I needed a bit of calming - the verse is charming and informal, if a bit clunky at times and the pictures are a delight.

The Voyage of the Arctic Tern is a book that I have only read once (a very long time ago), but it has hollowed itself out a little spot in my mind. It's a story that sticks with you, and as you travel you think back to it and wonder what made it so special to you in the first place.

I couldn't really get into it. The whole book is in rhyme, and it was hard to focus. It didn't seem to let you get to know the characters very well.

Very, very good!!!!! I would definitely recommend it to anybody.

Great adventure story, and all told in rhyme! One of the few novels in verse that I've come across that was done in rhyme.

I picked this up on a random whim as I was intrigued by its rhyming verse form -- which I'm glad is still alive, although I am no reader of poetry -- not unlike Zorgamazoo. I enjoyed the ride of the adventure and thought it was told well enough with a pretty decent flow to both story and rhythm. It stayed within a traditional mold of swashbuckling naval adventures, saving the day, and resolution of the old sailor's curse -- which made it satisfying if not marvelous.
