Ilustration To Books The Education of a Very Young Madam
Full of juicy details about what really goes on behind the bedroom door, The Education of a Very Young Madam is a provocative exposé of the newest developments in the world's oldest profession.
A stripper at age fifteen, involved with majorleague gang members before she was twenty, and a madam raking in over $20,000 a day only a few years later, Ma-Ling Lee has a tale to tell about life.
The Education of a Very Young Madam is the compulsively readable, fast-paced story of how Ma-Ling Lee went from living in a comfortable Connecticut suburb to founding a lucrative but illegal "escort service."
Korean born and adopted by an American family, Ma-Ling began her career in the sex business at the age of thirteen. "Taken in" by strippers, pimps, and prostitutes, she soon became an expert at negotiating the hard-and-fast ways of life on the streets.
Ma-Ling's natural knack for marketing and managing a business led her to open her first brothel at the age of sixteen. After the police shut her down, she knew it was time to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the anonymity of the Internet. She bought her first Internet mailing list, set up an offshore server, and targeted a huge middleclass clientele.
And business thrived.
In her own frank and candid voice, Ma-Ling describes the difficulties -- and the economic advantages -- of running an illegal business. From clients' outrageous and often hilarious fetishes to the hardships of living off the grid to the heartbreak of watching friends get destroyed by drug addiction, Ma-Ling refuses to shy away from the truth of what the prostitution business has become. The madam explains how technology has not only revolutionized the sex industry but also regulated business by ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
The business has never been better.

The author is a horrible person. She glosses over moments where she screwed other people, and frames every situation in a "woe is me" light. She is absolutely delusional.Ma-Ling, originally from Korea, was adopted at birth by a family in Maine. She has spent most of her life on America's East Coast, and operates her lucrative escort business in the New Jersey area.
Definitely not the stuff of great literature but a fun read nonetheless--and very educational if you know very little about the prostitution industry. I also wonder about the mental health of the author. She says that writing the book saved her thousands in therapy, but considering what she has been through and where she is now, she might want to look into it!

My name is Lola. I am the Zoe in Ma-Lings book. DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK, DO NOT ENCOURAGE THIS WOMAN!I have been abused and terrorised by this psycho for 2 years. I was the perfect victim, just got out of an 8 year relation with a pimp, just turned 26, I never lived a normal life. I was completely lost. I am from St-Michels neighbourhood in Montreal, I spent my teenage in a violent environment, and from 19 to 26 I ran the most successful and high rated agency in Montreal. We were called French
Caught my eye at the library, and ended up being a really interesting book. It was not the sensational, smutty, tell-all memoir I was hoping for. Instead, it explained in great detail how a 13 year old runaway became one of the most successful madams in the United States, and explained the ins and outs of the business of sex. I found her opinions very interesting. To read that she is trying to get her girls health and dental insurance, considers prostitution morally wrong, and believes marriage
Not the most well-written of books, but an interesting story I suppose.
3.5 stars. Absorbing story of how a very young girl went from a runaway to a madam. Though the story moves very fast and certainly wasn't dull, I would have liked more details about her life. Many details and difficult moments are glossed over or given only a sentence or two. A great deal of the story seems to be missing or barely mentioned. I did like the section where she talks about how she feels about what she does, but it still could have used a bit more detail. She did talk about her
