Description During Books Don't Let Me Go (No Child of Mine #2)
In this follow-up to the riveting international bestseller No Child of Mine, author Susan Lewis delivers an emotionally complex novel—perfect for readers of Jodi Picoult—of reinvention, reconnection, and the deepest love that can bind two people together.Charlotte Nicholls can hardly believe it, but it seems she’s landed in paradise. Living in a cottage in a shady cove on the beautiful Bay of Islands, surrounded by the splendor of New Zealand, Charlotte revels in her new life. She and her nearly four-year-old daughter, Chloe, have started over, with the help of Charlotte’s birth mother, Anna, who has recently reentered Charlotte’s life after a twenty-six-year absence. Little Chloe is thriving in her new home, and despite lingering effects from a terrible trauma Chloe has suffered, Charlotte is hopeful that love will pull her through. And though their relationship is tentative, Charlotte and Anna are slowly rebuilding their trust after nearly a lifetime apart.
But the horrors of the past—both recent and long buried—are never far from Charlotte’s mind. And then their idyll is suddenly shattered, as a series of events is set in motion that Charlotte can neither control nor comprehend. It will take all of Charlotte’s strength to keep her little family together, in the face of a world that will do everything it can to tear them apart.

good book but the NZ references although pretty correct were over done.I discovered Susan Lewis by buying two of her books in charity shops ( without realising it was the same author). The first that I read was Never Say Goodbye and, although at first I was a bit disapointed ( don't ask me why!) and thought " oh no, and I've bought another one of her books", I then got really attached to it and when I finished it, I was looking forward to read the other one ( Don't Let Me Go ). So, after a little book interruption, I came back to Susan Lewis and I got completely
I swore never to read another Susan Lewis book but gave in and wish I hadn't. It was in many ways very simplistic in its writing which is a shame as there is a very good story line but it is padded out with too much irrelevant writing. It just droned on so I had to skim a lot of it. I hate books which come across with a load of almost snobbish writing which have little or no bearing on the story line. This book should have been half its size. I got fed up reading about Boots it was all so trite.

This is an emotionally engaging read and there were times of tears, anger and frustration from this reader. I liked so much about this book including Charlotte and her relationship with three year old Chloe. Together they have left home, which is England and travelled to a new life in New Zealand. There they are absorbed into the family with Charlottes birth mother Anna who had come back into Charlottes life after 26 years, her stepfather Bob, who is just a lovely character, her stepbrother
WARNING: This novel is about child abuse Dont let me go is the sequel of No child of mine. This novel is as heartbroken as the first. It is not an easy read, far from it, I had to take breaks and couldnt help myself to care for Charlotte and Chloe. In many occasions, I wanted to hug them tight and tell them that everything will be alright. This is a story of abuse, lost and love in the purest sense between a mother and a daughter. Charlotte and Chole are living in New Zealand, surrounding by the
I was initially daunted by the size of this book but I swept through it so quickly I couldnt put it down. Such an emotional roller coaster with so many different back stories and relatable characters with depth. Although I believe in reality I think there would have been simpler less traumatic ways of getting the end result I was pleased with the ending! Ive ordered the other 2 parts of the trilogy although Im not sure which to read first as Ive started in the middle! Highly recommended 👍👍👍
This is the first Susan Lewis book I have read! I found it difficult to get into, later found out it's the sequel, so that maybe why! About half way through the book it really gripped me and intrigued me. I think it was really well written in the sense I felt I could relate to the main character and feel what she was going through at set times in the book! Brought a tear or two at set times and the only other book I can remember doing that was Marley and me. Will definitely keep my eye open for
