Pretty Persuasion
After seven years on his Caribbean plantation, Robert returns to England a changed man. Weary of traveling and troubled by his past, he hopes to attain peace of mind through marriage and family. Though scarcely daunted at finding Georgie in love with another man, he soon learns that winning her hand—and heart—will take more powerful means of persuasion than expected.
By the end of the book I did not want them to end up together. They had nothing in common, I felt they had no connection. She only hurt and humiliated him.
3.5 stars284 pagesLook I love strong woman in fact I insist on it but add flighty, stubborn and wilful and I'm not such a fan. Georgie was that. How many times I wanted to shout at her to 'get over it already,' her erratic behaviour stemming from an incident she witnessed between Robert and another woman when she was 13 (she's now 20) and Robert was around 20 himself. Fast forward: Robert's returned home from his father's Caribbean slave plantation a very different man to the one who left seven
Very prettyRecency genre.I love the way Olivia Kinsley writes. She strings the words together like it's a song. The only thing I didn't like was the flightyness of the girl, but it wasnt so extreme to be annoying. I don't know if this book is part of a series, but the characters are interesting enough to have their own stories. I hope I can afford them.
Upon her birth the Duke of Southwall and Lord Sheffield arrange for their children to wed. Robert and Georgina meet when she is 10 or 11 years old and he is around 20 and become friends. Georgina falls in love and then is heartbroken at the age of 13 when she comes across Robert and Lady Ferret `tupping` in the middle a maze. Soon afterwards he leaves for Barbados for a couple years. Flash forward when Georgina is 20 years old and she is trying to arrange an elopement with another and Robert
Got this through a first-reads giveaway, and was surprised as it didn't read how I expected it to. The twists and turns made it a pretty interesting read and I liked how it ended.
Loved it; my only issue was that I got frustrated with Georgie. Her stubbornness and blindness made me a little impatient with her. Otherwise, the romance was shiver-inducing, the writing was gorgeous, the story was beautiful, and the ending was perfect. Brilliant book.

Fantastic writing.woderful and interesting characters with lots of attitude. Fell in love a little bit with Sheffield, hope there is more in the series. A book I could not put down,at all! A really great style of writing too, a lot of historical bits that must have been researched. I come from a village which still celebrates may day, pole and everything. I really connected...just lovely xBy the end of the book I did not want them to end up together. They had nothing in common, I felt they had no connection. She only hurt and humiliated him.
