I was very excited about this as it was written by an author whose book Crimson River was made into a pretty good French horror movie with Jean Reno. However, the translation was so awkward that reading it was painful. I couldn't read but a few chapters before I put it down in frustration. Maybe I'll come back to it some day and have something good to say about it.I put this book on hold from the library not because I knew what it was about or that it had been recommended to me, but because I knew that theyd made a movie out of itand the movie was French. I have a soft spot for French movies . But because the movie isnt available at my library, I had to read the book first. And now, I have a soft spot for French books.I havent read a book in years that has captured my attention so well. From the very first sentence, I was hooked. For the first twelve or
This was a gripping read, maybe not a literally strong book but the plot is intriguing and it's definitely a page turner with a few shockers!

Really a page turner. Listened to the German audio book and liked the narrator. Fast paced story, interesting plot, but I didn't like the ending. It came quite fast and wasn't "satisfying" at all. But nevertheless a very good Grangé.
The fiction is amazing. The story ends up in one of the most beautiful places in İStanbul. The caracters are pretty admirable.
I liked this book like other Grangé's books. But it has wrong information about Turkish culture and people but it is not a information book so that is okay
Interesting plot and great twists. You really get invested in the characters. Builds up tension and provides lots of gruesome details.
