The Vampire's Curse (Undead in Brown County #2)
The tingling, mesmerizing heat blazed even hotter in my veins as I watched him stroll towards me. There was a blatant elegance in the careless way he moved, from the slight swing of his arms to the fluid action in his long legs. He leaned over me, his eyes cold and calculating, his cool breath swirled over my cheeks like a freezing winter mist.
“You’re not afraid?”
I could not move. He was holding me prisoner without chains, without bars of any kind. He held me with the steady, penetrating focus of a hunter who will not be denied his prey. My fingers itched to touch him, to trail over his skin in slow gliding strokes. But he could not have me. No one could really have me.
Sarah Wood, after witnessing a battle between several powerful vampires on her land, is left stunned and feeling immensely guilty for having given permission for her friend, Alex, to be turned into a vampire rather than allowing him to die from his injuries. And though she tried hard to keep her sister, Katie from knowing about the whole vampire situation at their family’s Inn in the wooded hills of southern Indiana, Katie became the victim of a kidnapping herself.
Sarah is left to face the return of her mother, who had abandoned the girls when they were children. She’ll need every ounce of her bad attitude and quick temper to deal with the new surprises coming her way, including an illness that could very well leave the entire responsibility of the Inn and the vampires to fall onto the shoulders of her younger sister.
The paperback version of the book is 216 pages long. The manuscript in MS Word is over 35,000 words.
Never finished this series
So this one ends on a cliffhanger also. I kind of hate that. The first part was great. The second part switched POV's which was good for the plot but things happen that don't make sense. There should have been more details. I can't go into specifics without spoiling but concerning vampires feeding habits, what happens is not explained at all. Such a vague review. I don't know if or when I'll read the next one. That's unfortunate because the first book was good and the series had potential.
Vampire Not my favorite ending. There were many new characters. Vampire politics came in like a freight train. Still not a bad sequel
Alex is now a vampire and Sarah hasn't seen him since. Katie is still scared and is planning on going back to school leaving her with Nelly and Michael. Michael and Sarah have an attraction but she doesn't believe that is ever going to move forward. Then Alex comes to her and he also drinks her blood. This makes Michael very angry and he saves her when Alex almost drains her dry. The Alex reappears but with Katie under his spell. This book continues to keep my attention and I wished that the
The Vampire's Curse is the 2nd book in the Undead in Brown County series. I really enjoyed the first installment, and was looking forward to reading this one. It was even better! The first book was more about Sarah coming to terms with the fact that vampires existed, and that she was a vampire warden. In this book, Sarah was able to explore relationships which brought some romance to the story.I have really enjoyed the love triangle. In the first book, I was leaning more toward Alex. In this
I hate to give this 2 stars, but while I'm interested in the story I just don't want to keep reading. Everything happens too fast. The entire time I'm reading I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on, not the literal actions, but the why. A two second explanation is not motivation! I'll probably read the next book, but it seems like a chore.I really do enjoy the concept, but I wish there was more characterization and background so I can actually understand the characters, not just the

This book is a little longer than it's predecessor, but it's still fairly short and a light read. I think the paper back has 216 pages, but I read more quickly on the digital format. Anyway, I did like this one, not as much as I had hoped because it went in a completely different direction than I thought it would, which isn't bad really. I just wanted to slap Alex upside the head a lot, and I am still rooting for Michael, he just seems a far more interesting, and less volatile character. TheNever finished this series
