The Adventures of Cecilia Spark: The Brimstone Forest introduces the reader to Cecilia before spiriting you away on an adventure in the forest...meet witches and a dragon, mice, butterflies and snap dragons...follow the signs and who knows what you may find! Awesome...loved it! Would highly recommend it and can't wait for book 2:-)I am always looking for good books to share with my kids. With two different age levels and reading levels to contend with it isn't often that I find a book that will entertain both of them. This book did it! It was such an engaging story with well written characters that it held the attention of my older daughter but was simple enough that my younger reader could read it and felt accomplished that she read a chapter book! Just long enough and full of all kinds of adventure I couldn't give this
The Adventures of Cecilia Spark the Brimstone Forest - is a delightful story not just for children. The author has included every imaginable threat to Cecilias safety, from witches to dragons, but with wonderful heroes, including Soldier the mouse, Senorita Favorita, and Thingamabob. Cecilia and Soldier forge ahead, surviving the clutches of killer plants, but falling victim to the

It seems rare to find a book series where the main character is a strong girl with interests that fall outside of the female stereotype. While I enjoyed some girly pursuits
The Adventures of Cecilia Spark: The Brimstone Forest (the first of several Cecilia Spark adventures) is for those (young and old) who still believe in bug hunting on a Saturday morning or time spent looking at fluffy clouds in the sky (which is where Cecilias adventures begin) or flamenco-dancing witches. It reminds us of the imaginative worlds in which our kids (and we) can still exist, worlds we might create as well as inhabit. The story is beautifully imaginative and original. Characters like
Magical, entrancing tale, filled with lovable interesting characters and lively scenery.I havent got children or grandchildren, but if I had, the Cecilia Spark adventure stories are exactly what Id enjoy reading to them. In this first story, Cecilia is playing in her back garden, looking for interesting creatures, when she is transported far away to a land where amazing things happen. With Cecilia, you feel that you can recapture the wonder of childhood, discovering insects in the long grass,
