I am always looking for good books to share with my kids. With two different age levels and reading levels to contend with it isn't often that I find a book that will entertain both of them. It was such an engaging story with well written characters that it held the attention of my older daughter but was simple enough that my younger reader could read it and felt accomplished that she read a chapter book! I could tell right away that Cecilia Spark is a character after my own heart. Instead of being into girly stuff like princesses, dolls and tea parties, Cecilia is all about adventure! She would much rather be out bug hunting or chasing dragons than sitting around painting her fingernails, which makes her my kind of heroine!
