Interpretation In Favor Of Books L'islam Et Le Réveil Arabe

Judgment Appertaining To Books L'islam Et Le Réveil Arabe
Its so frustrating that he wrote this book at that time in English and not in Arabic. I felt that someone like him with such knowledge and insights should have targeted the Egyptian youth as his audience. His ideas might have embarked actions towards the right direction and saved vast number of young Egyptians. However, publishing it in English made it useless and merely for theorization. 😡

Well written and informative account of the Arab Awakening from an intellectually sound perspective. Tariq Ramadan explores the progression of the Middle Eastern region from an angle that adds more light and logic than what is usually portrayed by the media. Some of the most interesting aspects of the book deal with disparities in Eastern and Western perspectives on particular historical instances, giving much needed texture and depth to individuals on both sides of the spectrum. Ramadan also

Currently, there is one good power in the world, USA. I nominate a second, The Arab World.

I learned quite a bit from this book, but it was fairly repetitive and even the appendix contained very similar points from the actual book chapters. There were very good portions and in-depth, accurate and prescient analysis. I especially liked the overarching theme of "turning inward" to assess ways for the region to overcome corruption, inequality and poverty, cultural imperialism and political stagnation.

Drawing on the sources of Islamic thought and civilization, Tariq Ramadan shows that Muslims have the means to respond to contemporary challenges without betraying their identity. Nourished by their references, they can think of the modern era by proposing a specific social, political and economic management, attached to ethics and spirituality. To be heard, it is still necessary for the Western interlocutor to distinguish between modernity and the ideology of modernism, the tendency of which is

This book is a must-read. Could have easily been cut down to half its pages, though, without losing in essence or ideas.
