Narrative During Books The Stolen Child

This short eBook story by Brian McGilloway was just an okay read for me. It wasn't anything spectacular but not awful either. Middle of the road stuff. A nice reading palette cleanser in-between novels.

A couple in a house keep hearing a child that is not theirs through their baby monitor, there is no explanation for this. Then one day when out walking cries are heard from a house up the road, is that a child in there? What is going on? The police are called to investigate.

You can't share more than that as it's a very short eBook and if I tell you more I will give it all away. The plot is okay but when it ended I was a bit stunned, it felt like it wasn't a proper ending, in fact I thought there must be more. It was so abrupt.

An average read, enjoyable but I wanted more from it that it did not deliver.

Bit of a strange one this, not sure what to think, thankfully it was free

This very short story is about a couple who hear a baby crying on their baby monitor, but it's not their child that they can hear. It is difficult to say much more beyond that as I don't like my reviews to contain spoilers. I flew through this short story and absolutely loved it. I didn't see anything that happened coming beforehand. I was engrossed in the story and invested in the characters. The only negative thing I have to say is that I felt that the story ended very abruptly. Or maybe this

Most people reviewing this book seemed to be rating it down for being short. So be warned - you can easily finish this in 10 minutes or less. However, having read a lot of the short books on the free-list I'm beginning to realise what makes an interesting short story, and I assure you there is a lot worse than this out there! The plot to this book is very interesting and the concept brings together a kind of thriller and crime genre. This is one of the short stories that could have benefited by

good taster but too short and not enough depth.

A very quick read. Too short to be classified as a book really.
