Henriette herself is enough proof that success is within our reach and we are meant to succeed. She wrote her book in a café and she writes as if she is talking to you face to face. So, she is so real and practical. I found the stories in the book so inspiring and motivating and I took down a lot of notes that I enjoy rephrasing for my Arabic speaking friends. I tried these principles before reading about them in a book like this and indeed they work. Our faith in what we write and believing it.Never fails to inspire me to go back to journaling, to think long and hard about what I want out of life. It's a little hokey and saccharine at times -- so many books like this are. And the personal stories tend to obscure rather than illustrate, but the exercises are worthwhile. It's not as simple as writing down what you want and making it happen. Sometimes what you want isn't what you need; sometimes what you need isn't what you want. But to borrow another cliche: Knowing what you don't want
I really enjoyed this and recommend it. Some notes:Your playing small does not serve the world. Who are you not to be great? Nelson MandelaJournaling and photography allow you to live twice as much because you pay better attention.Don't wait for the perfect circumstances. Begin having a full life today. A whole, fulfilling life.Write goals and review them. Keep the dreams alive this way. Make these notes a beacon to refer to over and over.Writing can make your feelings speedbumps, not road
The title says it all. When you write down what you want or wish to obtain or achieve, you help manifest those things into your life. It's a physical manifestation of a thought. A step closer to materializing it. And i can honestly say it works. There are excellent examples on how it works throughout the book.
My dear friend Katia told me about this book when we were talking about writing down our dreams and thoughts and how the act of writing in a physical notebook helps you process where you are stuck in your mind and what may be in your way and what's behind your frustration and anxiety. she swears by this book and so I grabbed a physical copy and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Half-way through the book, I set it down and started to do as it preached. I've always written down things too but
I read this book for the first time in 2008, and back then, I was absolutely blown away by it. This time, 11 years later, not so much. I found the concepts overly simplistic, and I got tired of the endless stories about people whose wishes came true simply because they wrote them down somewhere. Sure, that may well be the case, but the book leaves out so many key aspects of how to get from scribbling your desires on paper to living the life you only dared imagine.I was looking for more writing
I finally understood the true power of visualizing (and writing) to realize my dreams. Our imagination, our writings, the words, the act of writing are all so powerful...more powerful than we may ever know...but the beginning of knowing this power is by picking up that pen and writing...sounds so cliche but whatever. That's how I got my fanny to NOLA even tho people said it couldn't happen. That's how I got to be here, got my travelin done, and still didn't miss out on playing SXSW, MBG, helping
