Rendition To Books North Sea Hunters
JAWS meets DAS BOOT!In the dead of night the U-616 – a Type VIIB U-Boat patrolling the British mainland in the early years of World War II – rescues a solitary survivor from a sunken ship. His story is so outlandish as to be unbelievable: a colossal shark – far too large even to be a Great White – hunting them for days before savaging straight through their hull and sinking them down into the ocean.
Captain August Krauser is sceptical of the man’s story, but as the U-616 continues its patrol he is forced to admit that the danger lurking in the water is very real. Something impossibly large and ancient follows the submarine, bringing the two greatest hunters the North Sea has ever seen into an explosive confrontation.

I'm not normally a big reader of horror but the submarine angle had me intrigued! There's a touch of HP Lovecraft in the mystery surrounding the monster, the lurking menace is well done, and the principal characters are more than two-dimensional, so no stereotype Nazis here. Well worth a read, even if this isn't your normal kind of tale...Interesting book a good read and held my attention.

I read Brad Harmer-Barnes' Vietnam Black last Spooktober, and let me tell you, as far as creature features go, it doesnt get much better. So he was always going to make my list for this years Shark Week with his North Sea Hunters. And this one was fun, too. Were aboard a German submarine at the beginning of WWII. The U-616 is patrolling the North Sea with orders to sink as many cargo vessels bound for Britain as it can. As the crew is trying to sink a huge freighter they come across something
BoringI could not even get past the first chapter. Dialog was awful and totally uninteresting. There was nothing to capture my interest.
They say 'don't judge a book by its cover.' In the case of North Sea Hunters, they're wrong. Please do judge this terrific slice of giant shark vs. Nazi fiction by its cover. Harmer-Barnes delivers a taut, thrilling b-movie style experience. It works because the author firmly understands the genre in which he's writing. You have to suspend your disbelief in any book of this type, and to help that Harmer-Barnes grounds the surrounding details in reality. From technical details of the U-boat to the
I needed more sharks in my life and I was very happy to discover Served Press, and come across this book. A U-boat + megalodon + WWII = An action packed monster novella.
