The Forget Me Not Sonata
I would have been a nice book if it weren't for the ending... I couldn't care less about the life of those twins, this wasn't what we were all here for, it wasn't even what this story was here forIt was very pathetic on so many occasions but I hoped it will all be redeemed in the end, and it was so clooose, but no.I think it is a good read though, it is exciting with all the drama going on in the first two parts, just don't finish it and you'll have read a really nice book.
UnusualI found it strange that the book started at the end and took the entire time getting back there. The characters were very hard to warm to but I was rather gripped by the end.

The start was very slow and the overly romantic style of writing took a while to get used to, but once I was about half way through I started to really enjoy this book. Sometimes the twists and turns were a bit too much to keep up with and I think it dragged on unnecessarily at times, but it was certainly an interesting storyline and I liked the way the plot was linked together throughout. Not everyones cup of tea, but if you love a dramatic love story then youll definitely like this.
It's probably worth noting that this is not really the genre of book I typically go for; I was lent it by my mum (probably as there is a minor theme of music?). I nearly gave up about 50 pages in but persevered. My main issue with the book is mainly that it doesn't seem to be able to decide what it is. If it's about the love triangle between Audrey, Louis and Cecil, fair enough; but actually there is a lot in there about their children as well and their own particular love triangle, and the
Not enjoyable I have loved all the Santa Montefiore books, especially the Deverille series. However this was my least favorite of her books. Audrey and Louis were weak and rather pathetic, Louis was clearly a narcissist with borderline personality disorder. This was no great love story. I just didnt enjoy it.
This is a book I usually wouldn't pick off the shelf. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The sheer amount of time the book spans gives it a lyrical, other-worldly feel and the narrative parallels are displayed clearly, but not pushed onto the reader. That being said, I did find the sense of time overwhelming in places and was sometimes unsure of how many years had passed between events. Nevertheless, it is still an incredibly romantic, heartbreaking and emotional novel. Granted, not one that

Chronicle As Books The Forget Me Not Sonata
Spread over two generations, THE FORGET-ME-NOT SONATA is based in the English Colony of Hurlingham in Argentina and in Dorset from the 1940s to the present day. A sweeping story following the life of Audrey Garnet who grows up in the small Anglo-Argentine community where the gossiping ladies of the Hurlingham Club divulge and discuss the latest scandals over scones and Earl Grey tea. Ripples pass through the community when Cecil and Louis Forrester arrive to make their fortunes. Cecil is a decorated war hero while Louis, who didn't fight, thrashes out his tormented soul on the grand piano and hides a dark secret that only his brother knows. Audrey loses her heart to one, but marries the other and yet her love only intensifies over the years and the music of the forget-me-not sonata reminds her time and again of the dreadful sacrifice she has made.Describe About Books The Forget Me Not Sonata

Didnt really enjoy this book. Couldnt get into it at all but persevered till the end. The characters all seemed to all be selfish in there ways apart from Leonora. Alicia and Audrey where definitely the most selfish of the characters.I would have been a nice book if it weren't for the ending...
